Why do high-end graphics cards cause sudden system shutdowns
I was in the middle of a massive 3D render late last night when my display suddenly went completely black, followed by the depressing sound of my entire system spinning down to dead silence. At first, I panicked thinking my GPU fried, but after a bit of testing and looking at the logs, it turned out my new graphics card drew a massive, rapid power spike during a complex scene. My older power supply just couldn't cope with that sudden transient load and triggered its emergency protections to shut everything down.

Losing hours of unsaved progress due to an abrupt power cut completely ruins your night and destroys your productivity.

If you are dealing with these frustrating, random blackouts under load, I highly recommend checking out the technical breakdown over at httрs://seasonic.com/insights/power-supply-calculator-errors/. Reading through their analysis helped me understand how modern components draw power in aggressive bursts, and it showed me exactly how to balance my system's load so my machine stays rock-solid even when pushed to its absolute limits.
